BrickieFest 2011 Launches the Hobart
High School Alumni Association

Right: Hobart High School Alumni from as far back as the 1940s showed up for BrickieFest 2011.

On Saturday, July 30, over 1600 people attended BrickieFest 2011, the first all-class reunion for Brickies of all ages: HHS alumni, current and former students, faculty and staff. People who haven't been to Brickie Bowl in decades came back home to greet classmates, friends, family and teachers, in sweltering mid-90-degree heat.
BrickieFest 2011was the kickoff event for the Hobart High School Alumni Association, established to support Hobart High School by means of scholarships to students and alumni, and grants to support the professional development of HHS teachers. Nearly 150 alumni joined the HHS Alumni Association at BrickieFest 2011.
Musical entertainment was provided by Wolffgang, Pentatonic, Mystique and the HHS Jazz Band, as well as local band C4 and others. Clowning, magic-making, face-painting, wall-climbing, photo-taking and yearbook-browsing were some of the activities that took place during the afternoon, while vendors sold crafts, food, and drinks, including lots of cold water! Door prizes donated by local businesses were given away. Our thanks go to all who helped plan and run BrickieFest 2011, including the City of Hobart and the School City of Hobart, businesses that advertised in our program booklet, and dozens of volunteers.
You can see many more pictures of BrickieFest 2011 on the Picasa website. Thanks to all of you who attended, and especially to all who joined the HHS Alumni Association!
