BRICKIE ALUMS ENJOY BEAUTIFUL PICNIC WEATHER!

Several Hobart High School alumni attended the BrickieFest Homecoming Picnic on Saturday, October 11, at Veterans Memorial Park on 73rd Avenue in Merrillville, from 12 noon to 3:00 pm. After a Friday night loss to Hammond Morton in the Homecoming football game, Brickies from all eras joined to enjoy hot dogs, brats and cold water, provided by the HHS Alumni Association. Here are some pictures from the event:

BRICKIEFEST HOMECOMING PICNIC

A  SUCCESSFUL PICNIC -- BEAUTIFUL WEATHER!

About 80 people attended the BrickieFest Homecoming Picnic at Deep River Park on Saturday, September 28, the weekend of the Hobart Brickies' Homecoming game.

Alums from 18 different classes attended the bring-your-own-picnic event in wonderful 70-degree weather. The Classes of 1958 and 1973, who had their own reunions going on this weekend, boasted the most people attending the picnic.

A dozen people joined the HHS Alumni Association, helping to support scholarships for students, and professional development for teachers. Student board members Stephany Hill and Nathaniel Wilfong (Class of 2014) were introduced. The youngest Brickie attending was Tracy Estabrook McCullough's grandson Kane, HHS Class of 2026!

Thanks to all who came!

HHS ALUMNI DANCE THRU DECADES RAISE MONEY FOR BRICKIE SCHOLARSHIPS

Alumni from classes going back to the 1950s attended the HHSAA fundraiser, "Dancin' thru the Decades" on March 23 at Rosser Hall in Hobart. Alumni enjoyed sloppy joes and beverages (including a cash bar), and listened to music for 3 hours, provided by Travis and Firefly Music.

Funds raised at the dance will go to provide scholarships to HHS students, alumni returning to school, and teacher grants.

Two $500 scholarships will be announced at the next Annual Dinner Meeting at the high school on Friday, April 19. Make your plans now to attend! More information will be provided here soon.

BRICKIEFEST PICNIC WAS A SUCCESS!

BrickieFest Picnic was a fun time for all and the fall weather was beautiful at festival Park.

Thanks to all who came to the BrickieFest Picnic at Festival Park on Sunday, October 21, from 12 noon until 5 pm.

The weather was perfect, so we ate outside the Community Center. Michael Shapiro's vendor tent provided food and drink for those who didn't bring their own,

and Wolffgang performed from 2 to 3.

This was a different kind of BrickieFest than last year's, an informal gathering of HHS alumni and their families. We plan to have lots more all-class events in the future. Check  Hobart High Alumni Web Site
for more information of future events and up to date information on your fellow alumni.
