The day was hot, but it did not
stop 1670 Brickies from attending the recent BrickieFest Gala -- Hobart’s first all class reunion.
There was plenty of shelter for alumni and their families to enjoy
the food, soft drinks, snacks , while enjoying continuous musical entertainment.
Crafters displayed and sold
their wares and children enjoyed the magic show and face painting, as the HHS
Alumni Association signed up 147 new Alumni members. T-shirts and other memorabilia
were on sale.
At least a dozen Hobart classes
planned their reunions around BrickieFest, which had the town buzzing all weekend.
HHSAA serves as a resource for alumni classes, and
plans to support HHS by: awarding
scholarships to graduating students , assisting HHS alumni who need new job skills and/or who
have lost their jobs due to changes in technology or the economy, and to provide professional development
grants for HHS teachers.
The festive event was sponsored
by the Hobart High School Alumni Association, and was organized as a kickoff
event to reunite alumni and promote awareness to the new 501c3 organization and
its mission.
